Fall 2017 Training Schedule

The University Controller’s office emphasizes a service-oriented, team approach to developing training courses that will take full advantage of the financial management system functionality, improve the understanding of financial information, and ensure departments’ success in the management of the University’s fiscal responsibilities.

This fall, our training courses have been redesigned to address the operational needs of Rutgers units and give the university community the opportunity to acquire the tools and skills necessary to use our financial system. Our training program covers a wide range of topics which include Chart of Accounts (COA), the Financial Management System (FMS), Non Sponsored Projects, Reporting Tools, Payroll (Time and Labor and Employee Charging Instructions), and Cash Receipts/Deposit Management. Also, a new hire “end to end” class has been added to introduce new employees of Rutgers University to our general ledger and project system and our financial reporting tools. This schedule is just the beginning inventory of the FMS courses that will be offered.  Going forward, new courses will be developed and added as needed.

Our fall class schedule has been posted to the Professional Development Program website. To enroll, login to the Professional Development Program website and navigate to the Financial Management and HR/Payroll courses.
